WATER - STORMWATER MANAGEMENT PLANNING
Toothman-Orton has provided stormwater management planning for a variety of private and municipal clients. Our key personnel possess a wide range of stormwater management experience in stormwater quality and quantity management and regularly attend continuing education courses and seminars. Our combination of in-house engineering and landscape architecture provides us with a thorough level of understanding stormwater issues from a structural and vegetative perspective.
Toothman-Orton routinely provides the following stormwater management services; inventory of existing drainage basins and facilities; identification of substandard facilities; identification of potential sources of erosion and sedimentation or other water pollutants; analysis of drainage basins from water quality and quantity standpoint to identifying potential regional Best Management Practice (BMP) sites; preliminary engineering and cost estimating to assist municipalities with grant applications and budgetary concerns; development of drainage management guidelines to be used by communities to identify acceptable stormwater practices for future development; development and implementation of groundwater and surface water quality monitoring programs; evaluation of surface water runoff and drainage; defining BMP techniques to be implemented in specific situations to meet NPDES requirements for construction activities; addressing sediment and erosion control; phosphorus removal; and project construction revegetation and post-development revegetation BMP.
In addition to the above stormwater management services, Toothman-Orton regularly provides design and construction management services to our clients for grading, drainage, erosion and sediment control, and retention and detention.
